Big Plans

I pencilled this in on my schedule today: Friday night = organized craft room. My, oh my, it's going to be a project and a half. I have supplies to sort, odds and ends to file, and art to hang. It's hard living in a rental and being stuck with pre-painted walls... my colour schemes are all over the place, but the room is really cozy.

I'll share the room with you over the weekend... and give you a peek at my latest collection.

Peggy's Cove

I'm working on a bunch of projects today - my day "off" - one of which includes photo editing. I'm trying out some new techniques for a framing/matting project, and I thought that I would share the photos with you. They are from Fall 2008 - a trip to Peggy's Cove with some really terrific friends: Heidi, Janelle, and Patrick. Enjoy!

Saturday, Saturday

I had a wonderful day today - got to sleep in, spend time with my parents and brothers, and go out for supper. I also made a cake. I made a "leftovers" cake. And it was good. I baked a chocolate cake mix and made cream cheese icing to coat it with. Drizzled some caramel sauce on top, and crushed up a Skor bar:


Mmm, mmm. Before I head off to bed, I'll leave you with a shot of my darling and I from my birthday. Neither one of us are very camera friendly, and the rare shots taken of us are usually "self-portraits". This one turned out pretty cute. Happy weekend!

Anti-Winter-Blues

I made my first Style School project yesterday: a pretty yarn wreath. I think this class is the perfect thing to off-set the winter blues.

Style School: Day One

Our place feels so cozy - it's tidy and there are candles burning everywhere. I'm off to scrapbook some pages, bake macaroons (not the French type), and watch my darling rock Guitar Hero. I'll have a longer post tonight.

Home on the Range

We're back home and back to work. The highlight of our weekend away: going for girl's night of bubble tea with these chickas. We had a great time Saturday evening, slurping our drinks and pretending to read Asian celeb magazines...

This is the first edition of a new monthly post, "What's in my bag?". I've seen it done on other blogs and it's a whole lot of fun.

My bag: a thrifted over-sized clutch... like, the most over-sized ever. I can just about fit the kitchen sink inside.

Wallet: a purple Liz Claiborne number - with a cute bow. It's the best one that I've found in a long time - and the liner is kelly green - how can I go wrong?
